Notice of Annual Meeting and Elections to the Board of Directors

The annual meeting of Fort Randall Federal Credit Union will be held on January 19, 2021 at 6:00p.m. at the credit union office in Wagner, SD.

The Board of Directors consists of 7 (seven) members, all of whom must be members of the credit union. Each member of the board serves in a voluntary capacity, meaning that no one member is compensated for service. The board meets once each month.

The Board of FRFCU has the general direction and control of the affairs of the credit union and is responsible for performing all the duties customarily performed by board of directors. This means that volunteering to serve on the board is a commitment- you must be able to fulfill the responsibilities of a board member. Remember, too, that your fellow credit union members have placed their trust in you to act in not only the credit union’s best interest, but also the members’.

  1. Two members’ terms of your Board of Directors will expire this year – each term is 3 (three) years. The Board selected three directors to serve on the nominating committee: Janice Schuman, Cynthia Hoeksema, and Josh Woods. The nominating committee is pleased to announce that Darrell Pepper and Samantha Bultsma have agreed to serve on the board for a 3 (three) year term.

  1. Darrell Pepper: My family and I moved to Geddes 27 years ago, when I became employed as a Charles Mix County Deputy Sheriff. In November of 2001, after 23 years in law enforcement, I changed positions and was now working with the Unified Judicial System as a juvenile probation officer. This position provided me the opportunity to work with young people, and hopefully make a difference in their lives. I am now retired. I have served on the board of directors for the past eighteen years, with the last twelve as Board President. I’m proud to have been involved in the growth of our Credit Union. I would like to use this knowledge and experience to keep working for you as a Board member. I would appreciate your continued support as one of your Board of Directors.

  2. Samantha Bultsma: Hello, my name is Samantha, but most people call me Sami. I have had the pleasure of calling Platte, SD home for almost 3 years now. My husband, Austin, was born and raised here and has a passion for farming with a local farm operation. Together we have a one-year old daughter, Brielle. I grew up in the small town of Epiphany, SD and attended high school at Howard High. After high school I attended Dakota Wesleyan University where I received my bachelor’s degree in accounting. I began my first accounting job in 2012 for Connie Buskohl, CPA which was later acquired by Carlon & Millar where I continued to work until September 2018. Currently I am a bookkeeper for Pharmco Industries here in Platte. I am excited for the opportunity to become a board member for Fort Randall Federal Credit Union. I believe it will be a great way for me to continue to grow relationships in the community as well as continuing to grow my knowledge in the accounting and financial fields.

  1. This election WILL NOT be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor. Members may submit nominations to the board via petition: the petition must be signed by no fewer than 24 (twenty four) eligible members.

  2. To be effective, nominations made by petition MUST be accompanied by a signed statement of the nominee or nominees stating that they are agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office.

Petitions will not be considered complete and will be discarded if the above criteria are not met.
